Founder of Peace Ranch

Jackie has led the way pioneering experiential equine assisted mental health and educational services in Northern Michigan. She is uniquely suited to this endeavor with her combined unique personal experience, solid multi-disciplinary experience in counseling and excellent horsemanship skills. Jackie oversees program design, implementation, assessment and provides overall organizational direction.

Forest Lakes Counseling Director & Cofounder of Peace Ranch

Farmer Paul oversees all Peace Ranch facility oriented issues and services on the Board of Directors and Facility Committee.

Paul is a Limited Licensed Psychologist, Board Certified Professional Christian Counselor through the American Association of Christian Counselors, EAGALA Certified and is also specially certified to treat sexual addictions.

Paul has served as Director of Forest Lakes Counseling since 1990 which provides professional Christian counseling services for the community in the traditional style.

Clinical Director

Jan has served the Grand Traverse community for over 30 years through Munson Hospice and the Veterans Health Administration. She co-founded Equine Assisted Veterans Services at Peace Ranch in 2012 and we are thrilled to have her full time in 2019.

 

Cortney Moguel

Caretaker

Cortney Moguel served in the Army National Guard as Military Police (31B) from 2003- 2009. She deployed to Hurricane Katrina '05 and Operation Iraqi Freedom '06-'07. Cortney got her B.A. in Equine Studies with an emphasis in Therapeutic Riding from Asbury University and did her internship at Hooves of Hope Equestrian Center in Lancaster, KY. After graduation, she was hired in the program facilitating equine-assisted therapy/riding lessons, conducting training for human and horse with those lessons, assisting with horse care and grounds maintenance.

Cortney enjoys spending time with animals, gardening, hiking/running, journaling, and faith is very important to her. She and her husband, Anthony are Michigan natives and have 3 children.

Theresa Galante

Business Manager

Theresa grew up in Northern Michigan. She served in the USAF from 1984-1989 and received her Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Sacred Heart University. After working in the finance and human resource field in New York City and Stamford, CT, the Galante family relocated to Leesburg, Virginia where Theresa operated a horse boarding and lesson facility working with Pegasus Therapeutic Riding. In 2003, the Galante family moved back to Traverse City where she entered the non-profit sector, serving on various boards, finance committees and eight years as the Executive Director of a recreational facility. Horses are a lifelong passion for Theresa and along with her family, she enjoys skiing, biking and the great outdoors.
